Croatia Sailing Itinerary Split

Day 1. Split - Pucisca (Island Brac)

Leaving Split yacht charter base behind bear south towards largest Dalmatian island Brač best-known of its amazing pebbled beaches, landscape diversity and typical Dalmatian architecture.

A welcoming getaway from the buzzing streets of Split is a small island village Pučišča often called "the stone kingdom of Croatia". Charming town at the end of a long colorful bay is well-known of a unique white marble buildings and relaxing maritime ambiance. Gleaming stone, indigent to the island and a remarkable Renaissance architecture are creating a impressive atmosphere ideal to spend a quiet first evening onboard your yacht. If you are up to taste some fresh local seafood delicacies, restaurant LADO is recommended. 

Day 2. Pucisca - Stari Grad (Island Hvar)

Impressive landscapes overgrown with fruitful vineyards and olive groves reflect a unique scenery during your morning cruise along island Brač. Studena bay on southern side is a wonderful spot for a quick swim of a afternoon lunch before you moor your sailboat. Situated in a beautifully carved bay on the eastern part of Hvar, Stari Grad is one of the most beautiful naturally protected harbours in Croatia. Unique green hilltops and breathtaking dense forests are watching over this deeply carved bay. When you sail closer to the land you can already smell perfumed air of lavender and pine. In Croatian language Stari Grad means "Old Town". No wonder, since it's second oldest town in Croatia and protected UNESCO world heritage site. Soon as you dock your yacht you are already in the heart of this monumental town. An excellent opportuonty to wander around the lively crisscrossed streets and feel the true pulse of Dalmatia.

Day 3. Stari Grad - Pakleni Otoki (Hvar)

Say farewell to Stari Grad and don't forget to stock the yacht's lockers with fresh fruit and veggies, that you can find at the town's market.
Drop your anchor in one of the well-sheltered bays on Hvar's western side for snorkeling and exploring the underwater flora and fauna. The famous "Golden Horn" beach is also worth checking before reaching Pakleni Islands and the notorious Hvar town. There are numerous options here to moor. Best option is ACI marina Palmižana well-protected bays on southern side of the island. It only takes 5 minutes with a shuttle boat and you are already in the heart of this bohemian town. You will soon get a chance to take a stroll on the busy streets of this extravagant site and feel the heartbeat of its lively promenades. A spectacular view from epic Spanjola fortress, guarding the city truly embraces the essence and Hvar's remarkable diversity:  the unique architecture, ancient buildings, buzzing streets and vivid town squares reflecting a genuine Mediterranean charm.

Day 4. Pakleni otoki - Korcula (Vela Luka)

Today we set sail towards Korčula. Waiting for afternoon winds to pick up, take a lunch in one of the bays on island Šćedro half way to your final destination Vela Luka harbor. Embedded into deeply carved bays surrounded with lush-green hills, olive groves and aromatic pine forests Vela Luka was always welcoming sailors. Which is the ultimate reason to stop for some shopping.

To experience its genuine maritime pulse, dock your sailing boat in fashionable marina Korkyra and later discover numerous restaurants of Korčula and taste local delicacies based on freshly caught fish and local beef. "Bata" and "Stari Ribar" are recommended for seafood lovers. If you get there in time take the opportunity and visit Korčula old town, known of being the birthplace of famous world traveler Marco Polo.

Day 5. Korcula - Vis (Komiža)

Still covered in the veil of secrets, the intriguing island of Vis is truly the island of legends. When you rent a yacht in Split you gain a great opportunity to discover Vis in the most unique way. Situated in the middle of Adriatic sea it was one of the most wanted Mediterranean locations on guarded by various nations and empires for centuries. No wonder that Vis preserved the status of being one of the rare still untouched oasis of Croatia. With only 2 villages of altogether 5.000 inhabitants and no industry miles around the whole archipelago ensures truly an impressive and diverse underwater habitat, ideal for diving or snorkelling. You can moor your sailing yacht in a buzzing Vis harbour. However, you can expect more peaceful island vibe when you make port in iconic Komiža village. Charismatic fishermen, traditionally built wooden vessels of town harbour and exhibiting local artists, are completing a unique charm of this picturesque location.

Day 6. Vis - Šolta (Maslinica)

Following morning you can rent a boat taxi to shuttle you to the »Blue cave« on Biševo. In this spectacular naturally formed cavity you can witness colorful game between the sun and the sea, which generates a unique blue light. The tour usually takes 1 hour and you won't regret it. It is always welcoming to fill your stomach before going on water. So instead of a early lunch taste local delicacy "Komiža cake" traditionally baked from housewives.

Early afternoon sailing towards the "green island" Šolta, might give us a close encounter with a group of playful dolphins or a tuna flock that these waters are swarming with. Šolta in translation means "olive tree". The agriculture on this island was recognized by Austro-Hungarian empress nearly 200 years ago, that is why local farmers proudly present home-grown olive oil products to the visitors.

Day 7. Šolta - Split

Last day at sea, you will have plenty of time to swim, snorkel and chill in idyllic bays of Drvenik island before we dock in home marina.

If you didn't get the chance to visit Split or UNESCO site Trogir old town, this is you chance to blend into evening promenades. A great opportunity to buy some souvenirs or have a drink in one of the countless stylish bars, remembering all the precious moments form your Croatia yacht charter week. Fell free to discover old town squares including the magnificent Diocletian palace, a spectacular monument from Roman empire, only 10-minute walk from ACI marina.
